what does personal injury mean?

Personal Injury is a broad term used to categorize types of cases where one person has caused physical, mental, or emotional harm to another person.  The most common type of cases that fall under this broad term includes: car/motorcycle accidents, slip and fall accidents, bicycle accidents, and dog bites.  These cases involve someone being injured due to another person failing to exercise reasonable care; this means the at fault party was being negligent. 

 

People injured by the negligence of another person may be entitled to be compensated for their injuries.  The types of compensation that can be recovered includes: medical bills, lost wages, out of pocket expenses, property damage, as well as pain and suffering.
